With sadness, we share the news of the passing of Boyd Professor Emeritus Sean McGlynn, who led a remarkable academic journey, leaving an indelible mark on LSU and the broader academic community. He spearheaded several initiatives that led to substantial advancements in research productivity and funding, including CAMD, the Center for Energy Studies, and the creation of the Boyd Professor Research Fund. His visionary leadership and efforts resulted in LSU achieving the Carnegie Foundation’s Research I University ranking. | Obituary

Faculty Award Dr. Noemie Elgrishi with picture

Elgrishi Receives LSU University Faculty Award

Congratulations to LSU Chemistry Assistant Professor Noémie Elgrishi on receiving a 2024 Alumni Association Rising Faculty Research Award. The award is part of the LSU University Faculty Awards and recognizes assistant professors who have demonstrated exceptional scholarship and a significant impact through their published research.

Dr. Elgrishi's research has already made significant waves, with twelve journal articles, including a paper in the Journal of the American Chemical Society. Her practical guide on cyclic voltammetry, published in the ACS Journal of Chemical Education, has achieved a remarkable reach with 950,000 downloads and is paving the way for future scholars in the field.
