Summer Institute
The Office of Research & Economic Development hosts the annual Summer Institute which aims to provide intensive training to a select group of scholars in the social and behavioral sciences, business, humanities, and the arts who plan to submit (or resubmit) a proposal for external funding over the course of the following year. Institute sessions include grant preparation, with a focus on writing competitive project descriptions, specific aims and/or goals, broader impacts, biosketches, timelines, and dissemination plans. Guest speakers include program managers from funding agencies as well as LSU faculty who have a proven track record of success with a given award. Participants will complete grant-related writing assignments and mock reviews. The institute offers faculty an invaluable opportunity for feedback and guidance as well as an opportunity to network with colleagues across disciplines.
Applications
Applications are accepted in April with notifications to accepted participants in May. The institute spans 4 days. Participants who complete the institute and submit a proposal within one year may be eligible for monetary support from their respective Colleges.
Application details for Summer Institute 2023 will be posted in the Spring.
